Animal Welfare League has a facility on Chicago’s southside. This facility is strictly for in-take of animals; no adoptions are conducted at this location. The shelter operates in an economically depressed region of the city and provides valuable services that local residents would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.
At the Wabash site, AWL shelters and cares for thousands of homeless animals that arrive as strays off the street and as owner relinquishes.
